Urban Climb Newstead is a boulder gym – this is ropeless climbing and it is awesome.
This does not mean it is not a social event. Simply put, bouldering is more social than any other form of climbing.
If you’re looking for a partner, head over to our Facebook page, where you will find other climbers looking for someone to team up with for an Urban Climb session. Another great way to meet people starting out in climbing and looking for a partner is to join one of our courses. Check out Climbing 101 at West End.
Absolutely not. The great thing about climbing at Urban Climb Newstead is that there are areas and climbs dedicated to our new climbers. If you can climb a ladder you’ll be fine!

Comfortable clothes. The kind of clothes you would wear to the gym or a yoga class are generally ideal. Skirts or restrictive clothing are not a good idea. Also please remember to wear or bring socks if you will require hire shoes. For safety, all jewellery should be removed prior to climbing.
